http://www.FTV.com/videos PARIS - There's a 50s and 60s elegance to the girls at the Rochas show for Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012. Designer Marco Zanini has a long list of references--Tim Burton, Alfred Hitchcock, cinema...but the cat-eye sunglasses, the kerchiefs and the quiet conservative looks give off the air of a particular two decades. Organza, silk duchesse, pastel blue, embroidery, and shirtdresses that fell below the knee encompassed this fifties trend that seemed to reign throughout the collection--even as the colors and prints became louder with florals, orange, and a pink/white graphic pattern. And of course, the black reeled in that sophistication that Marco Zanini is known for with shift dresses, lace, and knits.
