PARIS - Alexis Mabille is always one to watch at Paris Couture Fashion Week Fall 2011 because he brings something utterly French (and utterly fabulous) to his couture catwalk every season. His couture is always elaborate, always luxurious and always high quality. This collection was based on La Fontaine's animal fables, and he took note, decorating his models in furs, feathers, sheen, and crepe. He depicted animals in different fabrics and designs--a grasshopper in satin and lame (with wings), an ant in black crepe with slits, a wolf with black velvet and Swarovski crystal, a swan with a frothy white organza top and yellow tights, a Frog in a green ball gown and a hore with silk fringe on a bustier.
