His first success in haute couture was in 1979 and even with his latest line, a Spring/Summer 2012 collection at Milan Fashion Week, we can see why. Rocco knows how to work in the prints but keep to a themed and unified color palette. The brights come out at first, a pattern with a sort of wavy striped line over the silk dress in a variety of colors followed by a black and white pasiley print mixed with a royal print that looks like it belongs on a castle, not the runway. Dresses, still with some of the same prints, become more playful with a flounce and the print gets wilder on some pantsuits.
