MILAN - The Amish-inspired hats are on and the geek chic glasses are in place as the Dsquared2 show is under way at Men's Fashion Week Fall 2011, looking very much like the other fall fashion shows of the same label for the Fall 2011 season. Don't call them Amish, though, as Dsquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten describe their show as Western themed with lots of denim, fur, cowboy suede, and leather. The layers are there but there is no bulk. The men stand in front of a snow capped mountain set and each prepare to take their walk down the runway. "We've taken three types of men: a biker, a pioneer, and grunge and we put them in a blender in a snowstorm and we mixed it up," says ½ of the design team that make up Dsquared2, "...so you'll see a lot of dark, a lot of black, a lot of denim, a lot of layers.
