PARIS - Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri's collection for Valentino Spring/Summer 2012 was two parts lady, three parts girly, four parts tailored, and five parts sexy, but not over-the-top. The duo was inspired by Georgia O'Keefe, Tina Modotti, and photographs by photographer Deborah Turbeville. Other inspirations included Mexico in the early 20th century. The embroidery, lace, puff shoulders, velvet, floral and colors did the talking on models that wore flat sandals or lace wedges so that the garments themselves were noticed and not the shoes.
