NEW YORK - We never quite understood why people like Lady Gaga and Nicky Minaj wore pieces by Carolina Herrera. It makes more sense why Renee Zellweger has been a brand devotee for so long. Still, we know that Herrera always keeps up her ladylike tendencies where her skirts, skirt suits, and lavish gowns are concerned, so it was a bit surprising for us to see darker looks. Even with all the dark and navy looks in the daywear, we still saw the signature Herrera in the designs and in the ball gowns later on in the show, worthy of a Hollywood red carpet. And then there were the mod shifts in brighter colors, with jackets cropped to fit just so. Perhaps that was where we saw the designer's ladylike range taken up a notch to a whole other level.
